Instagram adds a feature to share IGTV videos through Instagram Story
IGTV is the new kid in town that is here to challenge and transform the traditional way of how users consume video content. One of the biggest competitors of IGTV is YouTube, so in order to defeat a huge video-sharing platform with years of experience, IGTV needs to offer the best. That’s why they are stepping the game up by offering users the option to share their IGTV video to Instagram Story.
Just a few hours back, Instagram made the announcement of this new feature and it's very easy to use. All you need to do is tap on the paper airplane icon and then the option to 'Add video to your story' will appear on the screen. By opting for this feature, users are able to share their IGTV videos with their Instagram followers through their Instagram Stories.
Now you can share your favorite IGTV videos to your story. Tap the paper airplane at the bottom of the video you want to share. When friends see your story, they can tap the preview to watch the whole video in IGTV. pic.twitter.com/oaatUoOqZY

IGTV is a standalone mobile application that has a separate tab inside its parent app i.e. Instagram. This video hub offers you videos in vertical format from the people you follow on the platform, and you also have the option to personalize your recommendation feed. Other than the latest sharing feature, users can also add a link to their IGTV video on the Instagram business accounts. And in case someone wants to see the entire IGTV video then by clicking on the 'Preview' button they will be directed to the full-length video.
We think it's a great way for Instagram to drive more traffic towards their IGTV app while boosting their user engagement rate as well. Apart from this, the Instagram Story itself is one of the most popular features that are currently available so it's more likely to work in favor of IGTV.
