Many a time, the apps on your iPad or iPhone may go for a swing. You just can’t locate the app you are looking for. There can be several reasons for the same. One is, you may have put the missing app in some folder, another case is, you may have deleted it to add up some extra space, or simply the app is lost in the long list of your apps.
Irrespective of the way the app is lost, here are the possible ways through which you can find out what happened to the missing app that disappeared from your device. But before that, also know how to hide an app on your iPhone. Here is the guide for hiding and unhiding an iOS app.
When you hide an app on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, it won't appear to have been previously downloaded on any devices that are signed in with the same Apple ID. Hiding the app won't delete it from any device that it's already downloaded to.
Open the App Store
Tap on Today at the bottom of the screen
Tap on the photo icon in the upper-right-hand corner, and select Purchased
Find the app that you want to hide, then swipe left on it and tap Hide
Note: If you hide an app on the iPhone that you are sharing with someone else and the app is subscribed, the other person will still receive notification of charges each time the subscription renews. Hiding an app doesn't cancel a subscription.
If you can’t find a missing app even after the repeated search, there may be a case where it is hidden previously by someone else or you did it by mistake. But don’t worry, I have the solution for the same.

There may be a case when the missing app is located on your iPhone only, but due to a number of apps, you just can’t discover it. For such a scenario, find your missing app through Spotlight Search. This will let you scan your iPhone and the App Store.
Swipe down from the center of the Home screen of your iPhone.
Type the name of the missing app in the search field. You will see a list. If the missing app is on your iPhone only, you can see the app name under the heading Applications or if it is buried in a folder, the folder name will appear. And if the missing app name comes under heading App Store, that means, it is not on your device.
