Microsoft is putting a hold on the update for devices that are facing crash issues while playing Ubisoft games or launching Outlook.
Microsoft made a recent announcement after users from across the globe reported crashes and inaccessible downtime on some of its key products. The tech giant has accepted that the latest Windows 11 24H2 has been crashing while users tried to play Ubisoft games. Microsoft Outlook, Exchange, and Teams were down for a bit as well.
Some users said that trying to load Outlook ended them with this message from the software, “Your request can’t be completed right now.” The company also posted on X platform that it is “investigating an issue impacting users attempting to access Exchange Online or functionality within Microsoft Teams calendar” in a post on social media platform X on Monday morning.”
No reason has been provided to users for the crash experienced on Outlook, Calendar, Exchange, and Teams. For the Windows 11 24H2 crash, the company is working with Ubisoft to identify and fix the problem. Users reported that the games they tried to play started displaying a black screen or became unresponsive.
According to the users who posted about it online, the issue seems to be isolated to Ubisoft game titles, including Assassin's Creed Valhalla, Assassin's Creed Origins, Assassin's Creed Odyssey, Star Wars Outlaws, and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. Most of the impacted users belonged to The Netherlands, Poland, France, and Sweden.
Ubisoft has also notified its users and almost fixed the Star Wars Outlaws title, but there still may be some issues. To safeguard the Windows update experience, Microsoft has put a hold on the update rollout for devices with these games installed. It has also urged users to avoid manually updating their Windows version till further notice.
While Microsoft rectifies the ongoing access issue, over 800 reports have surfaced online regarding the downtime and crashes. Microsoft has redirected users who want new updates on the issues to visit the log number MO941162 in their admin center.
