Adding another announcement to its ‘12 Days of Shipmas’ initiative, ChatGPT’s new ‘Projects’ will now help users collaborate better for group tasks.
ChatGPT is a great tool to support creative ideation, research work, and automation across many tasks with maximum accuracy and efficiency. However, the overall product did not provide ways to organize the chats or other related windows. This roadblock ends now as OpenAI has just unveiled ‘ChatGPT Projects’ to help users group files, chats, and custom instructions in one place.
The core purpose of launching Projects was simply to keep things tidy and share their work, files, or prompts with other users in an organization. The company demoed Projects’ features in the most relevant theme of the holiday season.
OpenAI’s researchers uploaded a Secret Santa project to ChatGPT and then prompted the AI chatbot to randomly assign requests to its group members. Then they asked the AI chatbot to write and send a mail to the group members. The researchers also uploaded notes about home appliances and then asked AI to remind them whenever the water filter required replacement.
The researchers went beyond organizing aspects and created an entire website, which they later integrated with Canvas to edit the generated template. Projects are being rolled out for all ChatGPT Plus, Pro, and Teams users. Enterprise and Edu users will get access to the new Projects feature for their AI tools early in the new year.
