Meta AI is planning to launch a new AI feature that will speak to users in the voices of famous celebrities, including Judi Dench, Kristen Bell, and John Cena.
After the AI boom stabilized, one new aspect emerged as a key differentiator. Typing prompts and getting text responses are already becoming outdated. It is now time for voice-based prompts that AI understands accurately and responses that it can speak out loud understandably. Meta AI is executing one of the early consent-based deals to utilize the voices of celebrities like Judi Dench, Kristen Bell, and John Cena.
These celebrity voices will become the preferred choice of Meta AI users on WhatsApp and other platforms. The company has yet to confirm the news, as the source of information is an internal member familiar with the company’s plans. Meta AI is bringing voice mode with an existing library of John Cena and other celebrities to choose from.
ChatGPT was one of the initial players to introduce AI voices similar to those of globally renowned celebrities. However, the lack of consent led to its efforts' steep downfall, along with multiple lawsuits from celebrities like Scarlett Johannson. Meta AI is taking a much more cautious approach and will sign healthy, concrete deals with people before building on their voices.
Meta will announce the official details of new voice features and other big ones. One of them is the Augmented Reality glasses, the first hardware product to have Meta AI voice features built in. Meta will make all these announcements at the Annual Connect Conference which starts this week on Wednesday.
The reported celebrity voice feature will begin rolling out in the US and other English-speaking markets across Meta’s family of applications, including Facebook, WhatsApp, and Instagram. The mode of remuneration and copyright have not been revealed, which caused a major spark in ChatGPT’s efforts earlier. If things go well, I would love to speak with John Cena as my digital AI partner for every task.
