iOS 18.3 Beta 2 Releases For Developers Worldwide
Date: January 08, 2025
Users who are keen to discover new Apple Intelligence features in the iOS 18.3 beta 2 version will most likely be disappointed.
Ahead of the expected release, Apple has announced the release of the iOS 18.3 beta 2 version for developers. After the holiday spree ended, Apple kickstarted the update process for existing features and has now finally rolled out new improvements for users registered on the Apple Developer Program.
iOS 18.3 Beta 2 is being rolled out with the build number 22D5040d but is not available to download as of now. This will likely change from today onwards. According to the company, the updates focus on performance improvements and minor UX tweaks. However, the update brings some critical improvements, including:
- Better support for the Robot vacuum devices like Roomba, Homekit, Matter, and more in the Home app.
- The calculator app again allows repeating operations when a user presses the equals button.
- The Image Playground app icon has been tweaked to a smoother look.
- The Camera Control menu in the accessibility page of Settings now changes appearance in the dark mode.
- User login to the Feedback app now provides access through Face ID and Touch ID.
Apart from these minor upgrades, the writing tools API has been fixed for bugs. The Genmoji app has also been upgraded to remove glitches.
Apple has also released the iPadOS 18.3 and macOS Sequoia 15.3 Beta 2 versions for developers, and the changes are similar to that of the iOS 18.3 Beta 2. To download the latest beta 2 version, developers will be required to connect their Apple ID with the developer account. Connected developer accounts can directly download the new version from the Beta Updates section in the Settings menu. If the Apple ID is not connected, the new update will not be displayed in the Beta Updates section.
Users who are eager to witness new Apple Intelligence features are in for disappointment. Apple will likely bring a new Apple Intelligence feature with its major iOS 18.4 update, likely to happen in March. Apple has also released the latest stable version of iOS 18.2.1 for global audiences, which focuses on minor bug fixes and provides no visual changes to their device experience.
