Tech giant takes aim at OpenAI and Microsoft with comprehensive workplace AI solution, with early adopters including Virgin Voyages deploying over 50 specialized workplace assistants.
Google unveiled Gemini Enterprise on Thursday, a comprehensive artificial intelligence platform designed to transform how businesses deploy AI across their operations, marking the company's most ambitious push yet into the rapidly growing enterprise AI market.
The platform, which Google Cloud CEO Thomas Kurian described as "the new front door for AI in the workplace," represents a significant escalation in the competition with rivals OpenAI and Anthropic, both of which have made substantial inroads with their own enterprise offerings.
Gemini Enterprise is offered through Google Cloud as a secure AI agent toolkit that allows companies to build and deploy custom workplace assistants. Unlike previous iterations of Google's business AI products, this is positioned as a standalone platform rather than simply an add-on to Google Workspace.
Today we introduced Gemini Enterprise, built with our most advanced Gemini models. It allows you to chat with your company’s documents, data and apps as well as build and deploy AI agents, all grounded in your information and context.

The platform starts at $30 per user per month for standard and "plus" editions, with a lower-cost Gemini Business plan at $21 per user per month, targeted at startups, small businesses, and departments within larger firms. A 30-day free trial is available for all customers.
Early customers include design platform Figma, financial services company Klarna, Gordon Food Service, Macquarie Bank, and Virgin Voyages, which has already deployed more than 50 specialized AI agents through Gemini Enterprise.
Healthcare provider HCA Healthcare is piloting a particularly innovative application. The organization is using a Gemini-powered Nurse Handoff solution to improve the critical transfer of patient information during shift changes, which is estimated to save millions of hours annually.
At Australian retail bank Macquarie Bank, Google Cloud AI has enabled more efficient digital self-service capabilities, with their Help Centre Search now directing 38% more users towards self-service while reducing false positive alerts for client protection by 40%.
The platform's core strength lies in its integration capabilities. Gemini Enterprise connects to data from Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Salesforce, SAP, and other systems, while integrating Google AI tools such as Code Assist and Deep Research.
The suite includes pre-built Google agents for research and insights, a no-code automation product, and a governance dashboard to manage and audit enterprise AI deployments. The no-code workbench allows users from any department (marketing, finance, engineering) to create custom AI agents without technical expertise.
Google Cloud CEO Kurian emphasized the company's comprehensive approach, stating,
"We've seen people from consulting services companies, telecommunications companies, software companies, hospitality companies and a variety of different manufacturing companies all using these, and in a variety of scenarios."
Beyond Google's own tools, the platform provides access to an extensive partner ecosystem. Through the agent marketplace, companies can discover, filter, and deploy thousands of vetted agents from partners, integrating powerful third-party solutions directly into organizational workflows.
Kurian stressed that the platform represents more than incremental improvement, noting that "true transformation in the era of AI must go beyond simple chatbots" and requires "a comprehensive platform that connects to your context, your workflows, and your people."
The platform's multimodal capabilities extend to Google Workspace integration, allowing users to transform presentations into videos with AI-generated scripts and voiceovers through Google Vids, and utilize real-time speech translation in Google Meet that captures tone and expression.
