Musk unveils Grok 3, claiming it’s the “smartest AI on Earth,” but experts question its superiority and real-world performance.
In the banter wherein Sam Altman and Elon Musk are headbutting each other, Musk made a bold announcement regarding his AI model. The billionaire has announced the launch of Grok 3, the latest version of the Artificial Intelligence chatbot. Touted as the "smartest AI on Earth," Grok 3 launch is set to be unveiled with a live demonstration on Monday at 8 p.m. Pacific Time (Tuesday, 9:30 a.m. Indian Standard Time).

Smartest AI on Earth.
In a recent virtual appearance at the World Government Summit in Dubai, Musk highlighted Grok 3's advanced reasoning capabilities. He stated that it has outperformed existing AI models in internal tests. He described the AI as "scary smart," noting its ability to generate solutions that are both unexpected and innovative.
This announcement comes on the heels of Musk's recent $97.4 billion bid to acquire the non-profit arm of OpenAI, a company he co-founded in 2015 but departed from in 2018. The offer was an attempt to prevent OpenAI's transition to a for-profit model, a move Musk has publicly criticized.
All eyes are on Grok 3’s deep integration with X, Musk's social media platform. This integration grants unparalleled access to real-time data and user-generated content, enabling the AI to provide dynamic updates and contextually relevant responses. Analysts suggest that this seamless connection offers Grok 3 a unique advantage over competitors like OpenAI's GPT-4 and Google's Gemini, which lack direct access to live data streams. As more users explore how to use Grok 3 in this ecosystem, its real-world capabilities will become clearer.
While the tech genius has produced some of the top inventions of the decade, Musk has often been seen to beat his chest more than he should. Musk has often made bold statements that fall short. Taking dogecoin to the moon or statements about Tesla's Full Self-Driving capabilities are some of the statements that come to mind. This has made experts doubt whether or not the AI model will deliver what has been promised.
