On the sixth day of the 12 Days of OpenAI event, the company enabled Santa Mode on ChatGPT, which uses the latest camera and screen-sharing tech.
Over 15 million ChatGPT Plus and Pro subscribers are in for a Christmas treat from OpenAI. OpenAI turned on ChatGPT’s Santa mode, a new interface that can be accessed by clicking the snowflake icon next to the prompt bar. The Santa Mode on ChatGPT comes with a new voice and combines the latest launched ability to see the world through smartphone cameras.
Launched on the sixth day of the 12 Days of OpenAI event, ChatGPT’s Santa mode aims to elevate the user experience through a Merry and bright theme UI. The voice output adds a new voice miming Santa’s stereotypical voice in Hollywood depictions of Saint Nick for the last 100 years.
Users who want to try will most likely have a conversation with Santa Claus, including voice impersonation, tonality, and opinions in a positive light. Santa Mode is available for everyone worldwide who subscribed to ChatGPT Plus and Pro mode. The Santa Mode works equally well on smartphones, tablets, and Windows or macOS computers.
ChatGPT recently added an eye to its voice by enabling access to camera and phone screens. Users who had to upload screenshots or images to prompt the AI chatbot for more information or to identify certain objects can now do it in real time. As part of the Christmas Santa mode, the AI chatbot will sustain its personality in its responses.
If a user shows ChatGPT their Christmas tree, the AI chatbot will automatically share feedback on how it looks, what they can do more of, or things that might not fit right. Users struggling to assemble their Christmas themed legos can point their camera using ChatGPT, and the AI chatbot will share guidance in real-time to complete the assembly.
While the Santa mode may go away after the holiday season is over, this marks the beginning of hyper-personalized and integrated themes that top AI chatbots can inculcate to improve engagement.
