Apex Legends is continuing its 5-year success streak with the launch of Season 23: From The Rift. The new season was launched on November 5, 2024, with character skill upgrades, new map elements, and a completely reformed Lifeline.
The game maker has launched a new LTM, the Launch Royale, that takes players back to the beginning of everything. The launch Royale mode drops players into the original circa 2019 with old-school weapons, legends, abilities, ruleset, and map. The mode has removed EVO armor and ability upgrades leaving only pure skill to be the winning and surviving factor.
The new season of the game also provides opportunities to unlock legends and earn rewards like Apex Packs and more, which are mostly available as in-app purchases. The Lifeline character has received multiple combat upgrades, upgrading her skills from healing and revival support to full-force combat.
As the company claims, the entire season is focused on improved revival and healing environment to make killing enemies much more challenging. Lifeline now comes with multiple new abilities, including the Passive Combat Glide that can be toggled mid-air using its Drone of Compassion.
Another new addition to the gameplay environment is the unstable rift in the sky which creates a temporary tear in reality to provide the contestants with powerful weapons and a new survival slot item. The rift also drops boost kits that power up various skills, weapons and special powers.
New support class perks are being introduced in the game, including heal expert, revive expert, banner crafting, and ally death boxes at the mobile respawn beacon. The developer has also made skill display improvements in both pre-match and in-match period. The skill display showcases true rank distribution of all players as part of the ongoing evaluation and improvement of the ranked matches.
A new universal melee weapon, The Raptor’s Claw is also made available through Void Mercenary store from November 5, 2024 to January 7, 2025. After January 7th, the raptor will move to the mythic shop.
