Instagram All Set To Launch Its New Video Hub, IGTV

Instagram’s IGTV will break the shackles of 1-minute long video.

Instagram features IGTV

With some new innovations to the video format, Instagram is expected to launch its longer-form video hub, IGTV into the market tomorrow. The IGTV feature launch event will be held in San Francisco tomorrow at 9 am Pacific time. TechCrunch first revealed the update in one of its reports. IGTV will be part of the Explore tab in the Instagram.

Since last week, Instagram was in direct talks with many of the online content creators for the creation of 10-minute long videos. Currently, Instagram only allows 1-minute long video on its app. In the Stories section, the user can post 30 second long videos, and that can stay for a duration of 24-hours.

In one of our earlier reports, we speculated Instagram’s planning to introduce hour-long videos in its app. The rumored IGTV feature is expected to compete with the likes of YouTube and Snapchat’s Discover feature. Instagram will offer dedicated space for catering scripted shows, music videos, and more.

The long videos will be set in the vertical orientation mode with full-screen and coupled with high-def 4K resolution. IGTV will also suggest Popular recent videos to the users, and the option to resume any precious video from the point it was left.

The IGTV platform will be targeting web celebrities that have carved their name in the audience and will extend an ideal space to creators who already have a sizeable Instagram audience.

In yet another rumor by TechCrunch, Instagram can also announce 1 billion monthly users tomorrow. If we look at the tremendous growth of Instagram, the 1 billion mark seem practical. Last September, Instagram had revealed verified 800 million users on its platform.

With an audience of 1 billion, IGTV will be a perfect fit and will help Instagram to drive more traffic, along with some handsome monetization. It will further offer the users to try something new and if IGTV gets acceptance from users’, Instagram can later come out with its dedicated app on the same lines.

The new long video feature will be of massive significance to Facebook as the giant social networking site lacks any notable video landscape as of now. Moreover, Facebook’s Watch hub was not able to garner much success after its launch. Thus, IGTV will be one of the most crucial launches from the Facebook’s point of view.
