RevenueCat is Enabling Vibecoders to Uplevel Apps from Hobby Projects to Lucrative Businesses

RevenueCat

Date: October 08, 2025

As vibecoding continues opening the doors of app development, RevenueCat is now enabling them to turn their hobby projects into revenue-generating businesses.

There’s an increasing number of vibecoded apps being submitted to app stores, and the number is only going up with an accelerating curve. This poses a good opportunity for a new AI economy if creators can monetize their apps. And just as drop shipping needed Shopify and other D2C technologies to scale, the success of this AI economy will come down to strong revenue models and the technology to power them.

RevenueCat has been solving this problem and providing payment integration services for up-and-coming vibe coders. The company recently surpassed Stripe as the preferred payments SDK for nearly 50% of all payment-accepting apps. To this, RevenueCat’s CEO, Jacob Eiting, stated:

“We’re pleased to be able to help monetize a new generation of apps created by people deep in their own unique customer niches. Developers who can successfully make money will be best positioned to compete in one of the most crowded markets in history.”

Eiting further emphasized the chart-busting growth of vibecoding and highlighted its upcoming impact on the future AI-infused programming.

“Vibecoding is creating a new economy for creators, but also for AI software development platforms like Cursor, Lovable, Bolt, and Stackblitz, who are leading revenue across the AI category.”

This growth trajectory is already evident in RevenueCat's own ecosystem. The company's annual Shipaton hackathon (in October 2025) has attracted 18,000+ contestants. That’s nearly a 10x increase from 1,700 participants last year. With approximately 30% of contestants now building through vibecoding.

RevenueCat Simplifying Purchasing Across Vibecoding Platforms

With vibecoding now fueling the growth of apps across iOS, Android, Amazon, and Roku, here’s how RevenueCat is enabling creators on every major vibecoding platform to build, test, and manage in-app purchase options:

  • Automate every step of subscription model creation: In-app purchases and subscriptions typically take weeks or even months to ship due to the many moving parts involved. RevenueCat automates those steps, from setting up servers for receipt validation and managing refunds to keeping up with app store policy changes. Because of this, app creators can release a working subscription system, whether it be monthly, annual, or another cadence, in hours.
  • Supplementing subscriptions with other monetization avenues: Subscriptions are one of the best ways for vibecoders to make money, but many consumers have subscription fatigue. RevenueCat is enabling app creators to integrate monetization features that go beyond and supplement subscription revenue. Vibecoders can also create in-app virtual currencies to drive these one-time purchases with coin packs or even develop a virtual economy of digital diamonds and jewels.
  • Test payment plans and features to determine what works best with users: In iOS, reviews can take 1–2 weeks, even for small copy tests. Now in RevenueCat, vibecoders can experiment and update everything from pricing and design to messaging and trial availability to find the best product-market fit without needing to resubmit to app stores. This eliminates long cycles of review, enabling teams to see results more quickly.
  • Automatically configure subscriptions with Cursor, Claude Code, and others with the RevenueCat MCP server: Creators can connect directly with their preferred AI assistant through RevenueCat to create and manage in-app payment options using natural language. The MCP server provides 26 different capabilities for complete subscription management.
