The Wait Is Over: Spotify’s Android App Gets Long-Awaited Sleep Timer Feature

Get to know how to enable this sleep timer on your Spotify Android app.

Spotify’s Android App

There’s good news for Android users, or more specifically Spotify Android users. Seems  like your prayers have finally been answered. This leading music streaming app has now decided to add the highly-requested feature of Sleep Timer.

The sleep timer feature in Spotify will allow the app users to easily drift off to their favorite music without worrying that their songs will constantly keep playing and will drain out their smartphone's battery.

As always, the addition of this new app feature was initially spotted by curious Reddit users through the 'Trusted Reviews' platform, where it was stated that Spotify users can now set time limits in various gaps like 5, 10, 15, 30, 45, and 60 minutes, so that the music can automatically turn off once it passes the pre-defined time limit.

How To Enable Spotify’s Sleep Timer Feature?

If you are looking to make the most of this new feature on Spotify, we recommend you to go through the steps mentioned below on how to enable Sleep Timer on Spotify:

  • First things first, you need to update your Spotify app through the Google Play Store.
  • In an updated version of Spotify, users will get the option to activate Sleep Timer on the overflow menu.
  • Now set the time or select a predefined time limit for which you wish to play the music. Once this is done, just click the next arrow option to when you want the timer to end.
  • Doing this will bring up various options of tones to choose from, and the selected tone will be played at the end of the sleep timer.

Finally, all you have to do is scroll past the selected tones until you find the 'Stop Playing' option. Clicking this option will make sure that the Spotify app will stop playing songs once the set time limit ends, while letting the listener sleep peacefully.

Note for iOS users: In case you are an iPhone user, you have the option to directly opt for the in-built timer in iOS to access Spotify's sleep timer feature. Start by opening the clock and set the timer option displayed in the right top corner of the screen.

Now that you know all about the new Spotify update, what are you waiting for? Just go ahead and update your Spotify Android app to its latest version to get a hold of the Sleep Timer.
