Google is slowly dropping the new features for the Android messaging app in order to move towards its bigger goal.
It seems Google is slowly renovating its Android Messaging app for the users before the showdown. Yes, after giving a new look and feel, the company has added another feature to the app. On Tuesday, Google mentioned in a blog post that it would be adding a more intuitive search option to the Android messaging app. According to shared details from the company, the users will get an option to find specific messages including text, location, images and videos on individual or group chat basis.
The feature will help the users in easily searching the messages from any contact by just tapping on the name of the person. You will see the list of all the text, videos, images, and even the locations in reverse chronological order that both of you have exchanged.
The addition is maybe a small change from the company, but it will help in decluttering the messaging app to Android users. Besides, the users interacting more with the Android messaging app will receive this feature as a major update.
Google is slowly dropping the new features for the Android messaging app in order to move towards its bigger goal. The company plans to add a ‘Chat’ feature soon to the app that will enable the users to connect using the RCS technology. Google aims to transform its default Android SMS into a global chat service in the coming time.
The feature is being rolled out from the company, and all the Android users will start experiencing the change this week. “With these improvements to search in Messages, which are rolling out this week, we hope you can more easily find and relive the moments that matter to you in your conversations,” Google wrote on its blog post.
