Samsung Flexes Display Dominance with Record-Breaking OLED
Samsung showcased a QD-OLED television capable of reaching a peak brightness of 4,500 nits—a figure that would make it the brightest OLED panel ever produced. The development addresses one of the most persistent criticisms of OLED technology: limited brightness compared to LCD alternatives.
According to Samsung representatives, the achievement was made possible by combining improved light efficiency, enhanced TFT circuitry, and a more sophisticated timing controller. The display combines the maximum brightness capabilities of each RGB component for the overall effect.
LG's CLOiD Robot Promises a "Zero Labor Home"
LG made waves with the official unveiling of CLOiD, an AI-powered humanoid robot central to the company's vision of automated household management. The robot uses AI and vision-based technology to perform household tasks like cooking and laundry, connecting seamlessly with LG's ThinQ ecosystem.
During live demonstrations, CLOiD performed tasks including retrieving items from refrigerators and loading washing machines. "The LG CLOiD home robot is designed to naturally engage with and understand the humans it serves, providing an optimized level of household help," said Steve Baek, president of the LG Home Appliance Solution Company.
The robot features a head unit with expressive eyes, two articulated arms with seven degrees of freedom each, and five independently actuated fingers on each hand for fine manipulation.
The Lollipop That Plays Music in Your Head
In perhaps the show's most unexpected announcement, Lollipop Star emerged as a standout product—a candy embedded with electronics that transmit sound vibrations through the teeth rather than traditional speakers. Users bite down on the lollipop with their back molars, allowing vibrations to travel from the jaw to the inner ear.
Developed by Lava Tech Brands, the product currently offers three flavor-artist combinations, including partnerships with Ice Spice, Akon, and Armani White. The device is priced at $8.99 and launches following the conclusion of CES.
Motorola Enters the Book-Style Foldable Market
Motorola unveiled its first book-style foldable phone, the Razr Fold, directly challenging Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold series. The device features a 6.6-inch external display and an 8.1-inch 2K LTPO internal screen.
The phone's camera system includes a 50MP main Sony LYTIA sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide/macro lens, and a 50MP 3x periscope telephoto. Notably, the device supports stylus input—a feature absent from some competing foldables.
Lenovo's Gaming Laptop with a Rolling Display
Lenovo pushed display innovation into gaming territory with the Legion Pro Rollable, a concept laptop whose screen expands from 16 inches to a massive 24 inches with an ultrawide 24:9 aspect ratio.
The system can be configured with an Nvidia RTX 5090 GPU and Intel Core Ultra 9 processor. Lenovo claims the rolling mechanism has been tested for 25,000 expansion and contraction cycles.
