Fasten Your Seatbelt For The Launch Of OnePlus 6

The day of official release of OnePlus 6 is finally here. After going through tons of rumours and ever-increasing expectations, OnePlus 6 will be rolled out in London today and the stakes are already high. If we take the history of OnePlus into consideration, the company follows the practice of launching two devices a year and this one will be the first one of 2018.

A few days back, OnePlus 6 design images surfaced on the Amazon Germany listing, which clearly showcased Midnight Black and glass body finish models. The leak was first spotted by WinFuture. As promised by OnePlus CEO, Pete Lau, the new handset looks to sport a 6.3-inch display. To make it look more premier, OnePlus has added glass all around the body that shall be supporting wireless charging feature, which was missing in all the earlier models.

According to rumours, OnePlus will be powered by Qualcomm SDM845 Snapdragon 845 chipset that will be used for the Octa-core 4x2.7 GHz Kryo 385 Gold and 4x1.7 GHz Kryo 385 Silver processor. With such an efficient core, the device will be accompanied by 8/6 GB RAM coupled with the 128GB/64GB internal storage. Reports about the 256 GB variant is also ripe but we will have to wait until official declaration.

With Oreo 8.1 being the latest OS version on the Android device, Oneplus 6 will be rolled on the same platform. And on the camera front, OnePlus 6 will stick to dual camera setup and being a flagship device, we expect the new device to be on par with other premium smartphones. The rear camera will contain 16MP and 20MP lenses with phase detection, autofocus, and dual LED flash.

OnePlus 6 launch

As evident from the leaked pictures, the back panel of OnePlus 6 will hold camera lens, flash, and fingerprint sensor, all in a vertical setup. Though the design can’t be verified from the company end, we can only anticipate at the moment.

To continue its reign as one of the dependable and affordable smartphones in the market, OnePlus will have to cap the new device with some competitive price. As envisioned, OnePlus 6 price may start at $621.26 (€519) for the 64GB model and  $681.11 (€569) for the 128GB model.

Much like the OnePlus 5T launch, today’s event will be followed up by the events in various other parts of North America, Europe, and Nordic(See the full list of locations here). The addition of Face ID, similar to iPhone X can turn out to be amazeballs for the fans and OnePlus should be relying on some or the other stunner to leave the audience in awe.
