Reimagine Your Friends With Meta’s AI-Generated Images

Reimagine Your Friends With Meta’s AI-Generated Images

Date: December 08, 2023

Meta is introducing its latest generative AI feature that will let users regenerate AI images shared in their chats.

Meta has been working heavily on developing AI capabilities ever since the generative AI boomed. From building its own LLM to products that enhance the experience of its end consumers, it has made multiple strides in the field. The latest update announced by the tech giant is Imagine, an AI-powered feature that regenerates images based on prompts.

One notable feature of Imagine is the power to remix AI-generated images that people share in their chats on the Instagram and Facebook platforms. The images can be regenerated simply by holding the image and entering a text prompt.

Meta is also bringing this feature out of the chat in the US region by creating an exclusive website to try the tool’s capabilities. Users can visit www.imagine.meta.com, upload their image, and regenerate it through custom prompts. Meta stated that the product is aimed to entertain creative hobbyists and is powered by the Emu image foundation model.

More Updates Incoming

While the key highlight is the AI Imagine feature, Meta is planning to roll out more exciting updates soon. One of them is the invisible watermarking feature that will help the platform authenticate AI-generated images by the Imagine tool. It is also planning to add watermarks to images produced by other AI tools, but no official actionable statement supports this.

Meta is also improving its AI assistant to offer more detailed responses on mobile and more accurate summaries of the search results. Famous characters like Snoop Dogg and Tom Brady, who humanize the AI assistant, are fully available in the US on Messenger, Instagram, and WhatsApp. Reels will also start showing up in your chats with Meta AI, but the function has not been officially declared.

Meta is exploring more functions around AI, like offering suggestions on birthday greetings. The company is bringing many new features to all of its platforms, based on its announcement in the blog post. Let’s just hope that these come true and this is not a stunt by the tech giant to curb the limelight Google’s Gemini has gained since its launch.
