Snap’s Innovative Lens Studio To Help People Create Their Own AR Lenses
The app called “Lens Studios” is now out on Mac & PC. Rolled out by Snapchat, the new Snapchat AR lenses are all about helping users develop creatives to get started with AR development by building their own lenses. The desktop app has a variety of features and lenses to help people guide to create their preferred AR lenses. For advanced users, there is a scripting API to guide them to use the advanced feature.
There are a series of lenses that could be customized as per the requirement. After you finish creating the snap lenses, you can then share a deep link or create Snapcodes to try it on your account for a duration of 24 hours. The desktop Snapchat lens includes World Lenses & an AR filter to bring graphics to real via the camera. Users can download the app from Lens Studio website.
In order to create the hype toward this innovative launch, Snap Inc is going to host a Lens Studio Challenge in 2018 wherein people can show off their AR creations among a host of other users.
Back in September 2015, Snap launched its machine learning-based lenses offering an exciting way for users to share their images with terrifying effects painted on their face. After than Snapchat sponsored Lenses for advertisers followed by World Lenses to add on funky graphics to their images. Snap also added 3D Bitmoji to the World Lenses mix, a few months back.
This full-fledged desktop Snapchat AR Lens helps users to create AR inspired projects, templates, and guides. An additional scripting API is there for advanced users to create snap from the scratch. Snapchat has partnered with different AR development agencies to help advertisers create lenses. The innovative AR lens is both for users’ and for 3D world.
This new move from Snap is seen as the giant’s movement to open up towards brands. With this innovative offering, the brands do not need to rely on Snap’s in-house creatives to manage the brand promotion over the desktop app.
