My AI is designed to help users answer trivia questions, write a haiku, and make gift or recipe suggestions, among other tasks.
This new feature is currently available for Snapchat+ subscribers as an experimental feature. My AI has been customized for Snapchat users and can perform a variety of tasks such as answering trivia questions, recommending birthday gift ideas, and even writing haikus.
Users can customize My AI by giving it a name and customizing the wallpaper for their Chat. However, Snapchat warns that "My AI" can be tricked into saying just about anything and has "many deficiencies," so users should not rely on it for advice or share any secrets.
While My AI is designed to avoid biased, incorrect, harmful, or misleading information, mistakes may occur. Snapchat believes that over time, AI can be incredibly additive to the app's experience, while also helping to foster deeper connections.
My AI may also boost the company's paid subscriber numbers, which recently surpassed two million. Overall, incorporating AI into Snapchat's messaging platform has the potential to make these interactions with AI part of what draws the community to Snapchat.
