Instagram is testing its latest feature that’ll allow you to post its stories to Facebook
It's annoying and time-consuming to post the same story separately for Instagram and Facebook. Frustrating to see a compromise in the image quality of your latest Instagram Shoot as you save your Insta Stories and then post them on Facebook Stories. Your grandma often misses on your cat whose adorable Stories are limited to Instagram. The latest feature update launched by Instagram in Portugal might be the end to all your woes. Now raw memories can be posted to the two largest social media platforms at the same time.
Instagram might have been a copycat when it stole the “Stories” concept from Snapchat, yet viewing the success the platform met, the photo-social networking app nailed it to perfection. Mark Zuckerberg catering to the booming trend, launch its own “Stories” section but has met with little success. To combat the same, Instagram is reported testing to share its stories directly to Facebook. The feature in testing, released last month was reportedly spotted by twitter addict Matt Navarra who got his intel from Mário Rui André.

Stories are a pivotal concept for Facebook, serving its futuristic goals regarding Virtual Reality and Facebook Camera, however, ever since its launch in July, the future's not looking good. Keeping up with the current needs of the users and employing innovative techniques is a forted of Facebook and the latest update seems to be a step towards its futuristic goals. Businesses will be the only exception to this feature since they aren’t allowed on Facebook stories yet. It must also be noted that the cross-posting is possible from Instagram to Facebook alone and not the other way round.
Snapchat might have been an innovative genius bringing the concept of “stories,” but Facebook has the upper hand of an extensive user base that poses a great threat to Snapchat’s future.
At present, Instagram Stories has a user base of 250 million, while Messenger touts 70 million users which is a serious threat to Snapchat’s survival. The cross-platform sharing is expected to boost the content on Facebook, and the feature is also speculated to arrive at its others apps including WhatsApp and Messenger. As a lesson from Facebook that recently “added viewing desktop” option for its stories, Instagram is also bringing the same option for its Stories.
