Get ready to turn back time with style! The iconic 'Prince of Persia: Sands of Time' returns in 2026, more breathtaking than ever!
The video game that has touched the hearts of gamers for decades is preparing for a victorious return. For many years, the classic game Prince of Persia Sands of Time has been popular for its unique gameplay and gripping storyline. The game is now set to receive a long-awaited reboot in 2026 that is sure to provide a mix of nostalgia and state-of-the-art tech to an entirely new demographic of gamers.
The game release year was announced during the Ubisoft Forward 2024 event. During the event, Ubisoft presented a teaser for the game that has captured a lot of eyeballs.
However, the development of the game certainly experienced a lot of hiccups. It's fair to say that the game has been delayed. A LOT! The game was delayed just after its initial release in December 2020. Moreover, the development also took several hits after Ubisoft moved the project from Ubisoft Pune and Ubisoft Mumbai to Ubisoft Montreal.
However, now things have seemed to settle down. In fact, Ubisoft took to Twitter (now X) and said.
“the project has passed an important internal milestone and development is progressing.”

Ubisoft Montreal reports that the remake will stay true to the original game. Ubisoft promises to keep some of the core elements that made fans love the game, including the mind-bending puzzles and dynamic combat system.
The result is a game that retains much of the simplicity of Quake but incorporates a lot more advanced features and complexities, including new and improved character animations and state-of-the-art game engine technology in a far more sophisticated world.
Gaming fans have a lot of expectations from it, and they cannot wait to see how Ubisoft does justice to the original by adding something new in it. This title is not just revisionist history but a reimagination of what the remake could deliver.
While 2026 is not yet upon us, fans who have loved the series for years and a new generation of fans await with bated breath the opportunity to turn to the sands of time once more.
This remake feels like a bridge between staying faithful to its legacy and taking big steps toward what the game might offer if it were released in today's gaming landscape.
