The partnership will also extend beyond this, as Mercedes-Benz will have access to Google's geospatial offering, including real-time and predictive traffic information and automatic rerouting, to enable assisted driving features. The MB.OS operating system will launch in the next generation of Mercedes vehicles, which are expected to go into production at the end of 2024.
However, customers will be able to access initial new features, like Place Details, provided by Google starting today via an over-the-air software update. The end game is to make MB.OS so compelling that drivers no longer need to use middleware products like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting partnership between Mercedes-Benz and Google!
