Elon Musk launches his new company xAI independent of X Corp, to build an Artificial Intelligence platform TruthGPT that works on understanding the true nature of the universe.
After a long tease of talking about launching an AI that will reveal the dangers of OpenAI, Elon Musk finally launches xAI on Wednesday. The company is incorporated separately from X Corp but will work closely with all his brands including Tesla, Twitter, and SpaceX.
Elon Musk has been in the spotlight for quite some time for sharing his grave concerns around the development of Artificial Intelligence and its related dangers. He has already voiced his opinion repeatedly about AI's potential to destroy civilization, and that its development should be paused till adequate regulations are in place to ensure the safety of the public both today and tomorrow.
Musk also predicted that superintelligence, as the world sees it evolving, will take only 5 to 6 years to be fully functional among us.
After years of interviews, quotes and tweets around why AI should not be developed without stringent monitoring and pro-human intentions, Twitter CEO Elon Musk stepped into building yet another AI with a motive of knowing the nature of the universe that’s maximally curious instead of forcing morality into it as a function.
Regarding the intentions he has for the newly launched xAI, he quoted “,If it tried to understand the true nature of the universe, that's actually the best thing that I can come up with from an AI safety standpoint".
"I think it is going to be pro-humanity from the standpoint that humanity is just much more interesting than not-humanity."
Elon Musk has already criticized Microsoft-backed OpenAI, the firm that funded the sensational ChatGPT, for "training the AI to lie" and said that OpenAI has now become a "closed source", "for-profit" organization "closely allied with Microsoft".

TruthGPT will come into the market as a rival to Google’s Bard and Microsoft’s ChatGPT. The AI platform will carry a base USP of ‘maximum truth seeking’ that he believes will help humanity survive and thrive instead of fighting for their lives against the AI’s wrath.
Interestingly…
While we see Elon Musk making huge efforts to build a safer AI for the world, he was actually the co-founder and early investors of OpenAI. The criticism started after he stepped down from OpenAI in 2018 after which Microsoft took it over as the major investor.
Elon Musk not only criticized the way ChatGPT works against our benefit, but also claimed that it uses Twitter’s data to seek information, that too in an illegal manner. So, being the CEO of twitter himself, Musk plans on integrating the data of Twitter and Tesla in xAI to improve not only their intelligence but also to acquire instant access to insights for TruthGPT.
What this platform will do will only be visible in the coming future, but considering Elon Musk’s history of successfully executing innovation, we have high hopes on getting access to a truly truth seeking, and pro-human Artificial Intelligence in place that would have regulations as he believes should exist.
