It seems like a new trend has made its way to the smartphone industry to provide a futuristic design. First, it was Oppo and Vivo to ditch the iPhone X’s notch display design, now Xiaomi is catching up with the trend. Yes, new images of Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 have come out on the surfaces revealing a true bezel-less display without any notch. The Chinese smartphone maker hinted about its Mi Mix series update earlier this year without revealing much. The images were leaked by SlashLeaks showing a Xiaomi smartphone having no chin at the bottom of the display.
The images said to be revealed the design of Xiaomi’s upcoming Mi Mix 3.Unlike the company’s recently launched Mi 8 the smartphone doesn't have any notch. The phone seems to have a full front screen design which is possible due to a pop-up at the top. The screen is expected to be 6.9-inch longer which will be the biggest from Xiaomi ever. There is no front camera or any sensors on display which ensures that Mix 3 will come with a higher screen to body ratio. The Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 could sport an AMOLED display as the company launched Mi 8 with the same.
However, there is no authentic information about the Mix 3 available yet, but the rumors are going around the industry. The module doesn't reveal anything about the fingerprint sensor. The rumors suggest that the Xiaomi phone will have an in-display fingerprint authentication. The pop-up camera module in images puts a question on the 3D facial recognition system in Mix 3. Besides, a dual rear camera is placed vertically having a LED flash in between the Lenses.
With Mi Mix 3, Xiaomi will be competing with Oppo Find X and Vivo Nex series. Oppo recently launched Find X having a motorized camera that slides in and out into the phone’s chassis. The leaked Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 images make it clear that the smartphone makers are now done with the notch and going for a different approach to achieve 90% plus screen to body ratio. Moreover, there is also another report from various sources claiming that Mix 3 will be running on Xiaomi’s MIUI 10.0. However, there is no solid proof backing up the rumor yet, so we have to wait to see it.
The leaked image also hints the releasing date of Mix 3 that is September 2018. So, I guess you have to wait for at least 2 months if you want to see a Xiaomi full-screen smartphone.
