Nokia will be bringing back another phone from the dead for the people to relive 90’s time. If you are from that time too then you must remember the Nokia 8110, the slider banana phone. Moreover, the classic ‘Matrix’ movie also features the slider phone used Neo. Prior to the smartphones, the phones with sliders were the iconic device and people were crazy about them. Now, Nokia is launching the phone again with some upgrades and modifications.
HMD Global the parent company of Nokia reveals the phone at MWC 2018 at Barcelona. The phone seems to have few design tweaks and features for the people still who have a thing for this banana phone. Let's Quickly check out the Nokia 8110 4G and what it will be offering now.
The phone has the similar design to original handset launched back in 1996 by the company. Nokia 8110 4G comprises the curved design and the complete slider made out of plastic. The phone is curved which gives it the banana phone title. However, the rebooted model comes in more compact size compared to the 90’s model, which makes it easier to hold in hand. With the slider open it is quite easy to reach the button with a single hand. On the bottom of the phone, there is USB port for charging and a 3.5mm jack at the top of the phone. There is power or phone lock key at the side of the phone and under the slider, you will find a keypad with navigation and numerical keys. The screen isn't the touchscreen so, the interaction will be possible only with the keypad. Nokia 8110 4G is available in two different colors including the black and banana yellow.

Nokia 8110 4G carries a 2.4 inch curved TFT display sharing the QVGA i.e. 240 x 320 p resolution. According to the company, Nokia 8110 4G owns a 4:3 aspect ratio with 27.1 percent screen to body percentage. As we have already told you the display isn’t touch screen so the mode of operating phone will be keypad like old days. The company said the sliders will be able to make and disconnect the call by sliding up and down respectively.
Nokia has made few upgrades in the processing unit of the phone too for giving the users a better experience. The phone comprises Qualcomm Snapdragon 205 chipset coupled with the Dual Core 1.1 GHz processor. In addition to this, the Nokia 8110 4G owns a 4GB internal storage with 512MB RAM. The phone's storage is upgradable up to 64GB via micro SD card. Talking about the camera, there is a 2MP camera sensor at the back with an LED flash that offers a satisfying quality of snaps. Nokia 8110 4G runs on the platform named KaiOS that features all the essential options. Nokia said the platform also offers the apps like Facebook, WhatsApp, Twitter, Google Maps and Google Assistant. In addition, the company also promised that the phone will be getting more apps in the future. The phone comes in two variants one is the single SIM support and the other is Dual SIm support (Micro Sim, dual standby). There is an USB 2.0 port at the bottom of the vase which is given for the charging.
As HMD Global has given it the Nokia 8100 4G name which is due to the phone is equipped with 4G connectivity.
The reboot Nokia phone contains 1,500 mAh Li-Ion battery that lasts up to 25 days on Standby and it serves for 48 hours on Music. The battery backup of the phone is undoubtedly amazing as Nokia has the history of providing the best battery support.
