It's been a while since Nokia is back in the mobile phone industry, but were yet to see a flagship smartphone from the company. HMD Global the firm behind the rebirth of Nokia is working on a very powerful smartphone. Since its comeback, Nokia has launched handful entry-level and mid-range smartphones including Nokia 5 and Nokia 7 Plus. However, Nokia is yet to launch its flagship smartphone in the market, the rumors suggest that Nokia 9 will be that device. Nokia 9 will able to give direct competition to Samsung Galaxy S9 and Pixel series that Nokia 8 Sirocco failed into due to the older chipset. For now, there is no official information over Nokia 9 but we have rumors and new going around the industry.
According to the sources, the Nokia 9 is expected to come as a full metal body phone with a glass finishing. The recently leaked images of the smartphones show only front body comprising a dual lens front camera. The bezel is very tiny making it look like the full screen, however, there is no notch like iPhone X. We didn't found any fingerprint sensor, so it probably located at the back. In contrast, the earlier shared images of Nokia 9 was different, it had curved sides a look similar to the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. Nokia 9 in that image is looking more alike Nokia 8 Sirocco and that might be the case in the coming time. The reports suggest that device will come with 5.7 inch OLED screen, this might be true as Nokia 8 Sirocco was launched with LCD. In addition to this, some of the experts also believe that the Nokia 9 will be the first on-screen fingerprint sensor smartphone.
In order to make sure that its first flagship phone doesn't go weak against top-notch smartphones in the market Nokia will leave no stone unturned. Nokia 9 is expected to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset, which is the latest from the chip maker. Along with this, the phone will have 6GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage. However, other sources also claim that Nokia 9 will have an 8GB RAM processor with the support of 128GB storage. As Noki 8 Sirocco has 6GB of RAM, the upcoming Nokia flagship phone must have the upgraded specifications. The device will come with the latest stock Android which is obvious as HMD don't overlay the OS for now. In addition, the smartphone is also expected to come with an iris scanner along with the fingerprint scanner.
The recent rumors suggest that the Nokia 9 may come in two variants including a 64GB and 128GB. Based on that the devices will cost somewhere between $560 to $635 which means the least one will be for lesser storage and maximum for the 128GB. However, these speculations were made before Nokia 8 launch and the device now costs $900. So we no longer believe in these price rumors, according to us Nokia 9 will cost similar to the Nokia 8 Sirocco or more.
We did not hear anything about Nokia 9 at MWC 2018, the company launched only Nokia 8 Sirocco. So, Nokia 9 won't be coming any time sooner, we expect the phone to be launched later this year. As there is not much information available on Nokia 9 release we need to depend on the rumors till the company officially announce something.
