The smartphones have become a lifestyle nowadays, and we can go a day without knowing what’s coming next. The tempt for evolved technology in our hands makes us get updated even before the device comes on the market. Similarly, Google Pixel 3 has started making noise for its launch with the number of rumors and speculations. The tech giant launched Pixel 2 and Pixel 2XL last year that became one of the best smartphones of 2017. After the success of Pixel 2, we don't expect less from the company with its flagship phone’s successor this year. However, there is some time in the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3XL to come in the daylight, but we have some reports and rumors that every tech geek should know about.
Till now, there is not much information has been leaked about the Pixel 3 launch but there some spilled beans that we like to share with you. Google has unofficially confirmed the name of a smartphone at its Android Open Source Project (AOSP). We have noticed a code containing the Pixel 3 referring that proves we should expect the smartphone soon. In addition, some sources have leaked that Google is working on three models of Pixel 3 and code-named them, “albacore”, “blueline”, and “crosshatch”. Among these three model of the smartphone, one is considered as the high-end model and the rest will be premium model. This means Google is following the Apple's footstep just like the iPhone X, iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus launch.
By filling the dots it is can be guessed that there will be Pixel 3, Pixel 3 XL, and an expensive one. So, with this higher-end model, we can expect the introduction of new features may be similar to iPhone’s face ID or Animoji’s. In AOSP comments it has seen that the ‘crosshatch has been referred as the higher Pixel 3 model many times.
Google hasn't let much slip away about the Pixel 3 so that makes a little to early for mentioning the specifications, But, on the basis of Pixel 2, we can guess some of the upgrades and improvements in the upcoming Pixel 3.
The Pixel 2 and Pixel 2XL came with the Active Edge technology that let the users launch Google Assistant just by squeezing the sides. However, the cool feature is limited to only get the AI help, there is no other option. We believe by taking the inspiration from HTC’s Sense Edge, the search giant will make the Active edge customizable. This may include like launching the camera app or placing shortcuts to directly access the preferred apps. Along with these, we expect that the Pixel 3 will follow the bezel-less trend that was absent in PIxel 2 and Pixel 2XL. However, the Pixel devices offer speakers in front that makes it hard for the company to go bezel-less but Google will find a way. The improvements that Pixel 3 may come with includes the display that should be upgraded from simple 1080p to QHD or HD + screen. The one thing that we really want to see with Pixel 3 is the Wireless charging similar to iPhone X and iPhone 8. Google may consider integrating the wireless charging to put Pixel 3 in direct competition with Apple’s flagship devices.
For now, all we have is the speculation on the basis of an earlier release, Google launched Pixel and Pixel Xl on October 4, 2016, and Pixel 2 on October 4, 2017. So, Google may continue to follow its scheme and will launch the Pixel 3 on October 4 of this year. However, the rumors are going that the lower-end Pixel 3 model is in production right now which may come out in July or August. This means the company could launch the two Pixel 3 models somewhere around August and September while keeping higher end model in its bag until the year’s end. We expect the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3XL price similar to be Pixel 2 and Pixel 2XL respectively, however, new touch-ups may add few dollars to the price tag. For now, it will be too early to guess a price, but reports suggest that Pixel 3 will cost $1,039.
