Apple Appointed a New VP and Managing Director For The Chinese Market

Apple considerably knows the importance of the China's potential market and don't wanna give any slip. Apple just announces a major job role in China market of Apple inc., a new VP, and Managing director is assigned to the China's region. Isabel Gel Mahe who is the engineering leader is given this responsibility to take the place in Shanghai. The data and the economic figures from the past couple of years show that China is the major contributor to Apple’s revenue generation.

The Recent step of the company of changing its policy and denying to give away any profit to the China based tech giant WeChat from tipping. These bold actions show how confident Apple is with the China mobile app market.

The numbers show the reason behind the iPhone maker recent decision. If we look the stats since 2011 the company have exponentially increased its revenue generation from China. In the past 5 years, the Apple market in China is exploding with the numbers and peaked in 2015 with $63 billion from $27 billion in 2012. In The March quarter of 2015, the China's market contributed 29% of the total revenue in Apple’s pocket from 9% in 2011.

However, the company revenue has been declining since past years and got landed at $46 billion in 2016. Still, China with its huge population and affordable high middle-class iPhone holders is the biggest market for the Apple. As China is considered as the biggest potential growth market for the Apple, the company will leave no stone unturned in order to turn the potential growth in actual.

Apple has also invested $1 billion in the China's riding- sharing venture Didi to make stronger its economic hold in the local market.

Isabel Ge Mahe is from China and graduated from Simon Fraser University with her bachelor and master degree in engineering. She has also done MBA from University of California, Berkeley. She led the Apple’s wireless engineering team for nine years and also guided the engineering teams to build Apple Pay, HomeKit, and CarPlay products.

The Chinese market is totally different from the European considering the WeChat popularity in the China. So the tech giant has decided to implement the strategies the market steps according to the local market with the help of a native person.
