Google is officially Removing the Beta label Off YouTube Go

Google is officially slashing the Beta label off YouTube Go, the lightweight app lets you save videos to watch offline. However, YouTube Go is currently available only in India and Indonesia yet there are chances that it will spread across the globe once the perfect and stable version is developed. This app is a toned down version of the YouTube app and it handles basic features and the functionalities even within the poor connectivity. YouTube Go app helps you to watch, download, and also share the videos even at just 7.2MB size. Earlier, Google announced that it will release a better and the lighter, data friendly version of YouTube.

Google the search giant has released the first beta of YouTube Go in the beginning of this year in India and Indonesia. Now YouTube app is off beta and has been made available for download on Google Play Store. Download of this app will ease up the set up yet it requires a lot of permissions even if you try to make a call or send message. Also, YouTube Go app is not going to work without being granted all the permissions. This app supports multi-regional languages along with a simplified and basic interface which is something positive.

This app is a lightweight alternative to the main YouTube app which generally takes a lot of space. App starts with the display of list of trending videos. There are only two tabs on the bottom which are ‘Home’ and ‘Download’. ‘Home’ tab will take you to the main screen of the app and the ‘Downloads’ tab will keep a track of your downloaded videos.

While you will select the videos, the app will give you the option to play the video in different qualities along with the data it is going to consume. It will display the free space on your mobile device so that you can easily select the desired video quality you wish to download. YouTube Go lets you share the downloaded videos with your friends but for this activity the other group should also have YouTube Go installed into their devices.

YouTube Go is a good substitute to enjoy the world of quality videos. It is a useful app and apparently light on storage. In case if you do not use the all the functionalities of the YouTube app and remain short on mobile device storage then this app happens to be a better choice.
