Google has launched a new app named as ‘Family Link App’ which will ensure the safety of phone in children’s hand. Now, parents don’t have to worry about what their children can download from Google play store or online. The only requirement that parents need to do is to create a separate Google account for their children and download the app.
By the help of this app, parents will have the authority to check their children’s activity on phone. Parents can block the apps which may spoil children’s mind or time. They can monitor screen time, set device time limit and remotely lock device on children’s bed or study time.
By this app, Google has directly targeted the Amazon’s kid-friendly fire tablet. Amazon’s tablet allows the parent to regain more rough data of what their kids have access to on the internet. Amazon has already launched a new dashboard, especially for parents in April.
However, through the family link, Google is not offering that kind of access to the parents. Although, Parents have shown the overwhelming interest in this app because it allows them to hand down their old android phone to their kids without any risk of spoiling them. Parents are considering this app as the better option than buying a completely new tablet to supervise the children’s activity.
The app is available for kids on the Android devices running on Nougat or higher whereas parents can use the family link on the devices which work on Kitkat or higher. This app can also be used on an iPhone running iOS 9 or higher.
