TikTok starts rolling out "Creativity Program" in the US

TikTok starts rolling out

Date: February 21, 2023

TikTok announced that it's launching the revamped creator fund called the "Creativity Program." The company designed this program to generate higher revenue and unlock more opportunities for creators.

The program will be available starting today on an invite-only basis for select creators, with wider availability to all eligible creators coming soon.

The program expands the earning opportunities for creators, offering them access to an updated dashboard with more insights into estimated revenue, video performance metrics, and analytics. The program requires high-quality original videos that are longer than one minute, but TikTok has not disclosed the amount of money allocated for the program or the eligibility criteria, except that users must be at least 18 years old and in good standing.

The program is designed based on feedback from creators on the current Creator Fund, which rewards creators for popular videos. The new program offers a higher average gross revenue for qualified video views, acknowledging the concerns raised by creators about the low payouts under the Creator Fund.

Once creators enroll in the new program, they will not be able to revert back to the Creator Fund. The launch of the new program marks a significant jump from the 10,000-follower requirement under the current Creator Fund, though TikTok has not disclosed the number of followers creators need to be eligible.
