Eggs Survey Found American Parents Inclination

New York, NY (September 23, 2019) -- Reading Eggs, an online reading program that helps children learn to read, has come up with a new survey conducted online by YouGov. The survey suggests that the majority of Americans agree with prioritizing reading as an activity during the early stages directly correlates to a higher quality of life in adulthood.

The survey has been conducted at a time when 56.6 million students have headed back to school.

According to a 2017 reading assessment completed by NAEP, only 37% of fourth-graders can read above the level of proficiency. With more than 35 million children attending pre-kindergarten to the eighth grade in the academic session 2019/20, reading comprehension was never been considered more critical.

The September 2019 survey saw over 2,500 responses from all of the country and highlights that a majority of Americans, not just parents, see a relationship between inculcating strong reading skills during childhood and successful adult life.

Mee Vin Mak, Direct Marketing Manager, Reading Eggs, stated,

Key learnings of the survey include the following:

  • 7 in 10 (70%) Americans believe reading voraciously leads to confidence.
  • 83% of Americans agree children who prioritize reading skills early will excel throughout their scholarly phase.
  • Over three-fourths (77%) of Americans agree strong reading skills correlate with increased social confidence and maturity.

Mee further added,

With the rise of digital education apps in the marketplace, parents can now lean on continued learning outside of the school system from companies like Reading Eggs. It offers reading and math programs for children in the age group of 2-13 years and operates on desktop, iOS, and Android systems. In addition to iOS, Reading Eggs announced that the programs can also be used as an Android app on select devices this Summer.
