Google Play Store Rating Will Probably Be Replaced By the Download Size of the App

Google Play Store Rating Will Probably Be Replaced By the Download Size of the App

Date: March 20, 2020

Google to List Apps With Their Download Size Instead of App’s Ranking

Since time immemorial, Google has used a single metric for showing the best apps in the search results. Till now, it was all about star rating given to the applications in the

Google search result feed. However, the former method is speculated to be replaced with a new way for users to determine what to download?

Google has ditched star-rating apps with the app download size that users will see prior to downloading an application from the Google Play Store.

Google has rolled out this new change to see how the users will respond to see the app size specification place of app rating results. The change is useful for the Android users who run out of storage space as it will help them make an informed decision on whether to download the app or not?

This is a refreshing breeze of change for not just the handsets users with limited storage but also for users with a slower internet connection or limited data package.

A number of users, on the other hand, are just not happy with the giant making such a change. The response shows that users find app rating far more important than knowing the app size, when downloading an App. At present, the change is simply in the testing mode and is only rolled out in the beta phase.

Users have shown their disappointments through Reddit threads to question Google’s wit with the recent experiment. Google maybe has an interesting upgrade with its App Store, however, has failed to explain its purpose and relevance to its users

For this very reason, a number of Play Store users are not happy with the changes, the giant search engine has rolled out in testing.
