Netflix Cuts Prices in Over 30 Countries, Explores Global Revenue and Subscriber Growth

Netflix Cuts Prices in Over 30 Countries, Explores Global Revenue and Subscriber Growth

Date: February 24, 2023

Netflix has lowered subscription costs in more than 100 territories, including Egypt, Kenya, Indonesia and the Philippines, among others.

Attention all Netflix users!

Netflix has just announced a price drop in over 100 territories, including countries such as Egypt, Croatia, Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines. According to Ampere Analysis, the price cut ranges between 20% and 60% for the basic tier subscription.

This move is quite surprising given the current trend of increasing subscription prices from competitors such as Paramount+, Apple TV+, Disney+, and Hulu. Netflix has faced recent scrutiny for its password-sharing rules and the backlash that followed, so it's possible that they're trying to redeem itself by offering lower prices.

The company has confirmed that they are committed to delivering an experience that exceeds expectations and providing customers with more choices when it comes to entertainment. This isn't the first time that Netflix has lowered its prices to win over subscribers. They previously made cuts to subscription prices in India in 2021.

What do you think about this move? Are you excited to see lower prices or do you think it's a red flag for the company?
