Samsung seems to make its sports gadget collection much more robust with the launch of its latest smartwatch, Samsung Gear Sport. The company seems to be focused on its sports gadget category but with this new addition, it only fails to earn as many applauds as it was having for the previous releases. The design is very much focused on the comfort that a sports lover would like to wear. The sweat-friendly silicone strap is comfortable enough to wear and light enough to carry when we compared the gadget with the previous models.

Bezel integration is the latest Samsung trademark that one can easily spot on the smartwatch. Additionally, AMOLED display somewhat resembles divisive Tizen operating system and a decent battery life adds more to the features that Samsung Gear Sport offers to any wearer. Swim-friendly water-resistance to 50 meters is a feature worth mentioning that offers a bunch of additional points to the gadget.

A bona fide jack-of-all-trades gadget

A smartwatch for the sports person in you

What All Samsung Gear Sport Offers?

Starting from the design and the display, Samsung Gear Sport is a nice-looking timepiece. Though it steals your attention with the looks but fails to impress a gadget enthusiast. The smartwatch features a metal glass-body with two buttons on the right side. The top one helps the users to go back while the other one is the menu button. The bottom section has a plastic built that most of the smartwatches have.

The smartwatch has rubber strap and you get an extra one free of cost inside your Samsung Gear Sports box. The smartwatch is as much ideal to wear to the gym as it for the office. The decent looks make the gadget a fit for every occasion. In order to browse through the interface, the Samsung Gear Sport has a circular bezel that works nicely and has been woven neatly into the smartwatch.

Coming to the display, it has a 360 x 360 AMOLED display that is appealing and stylish at the same time. With a weight around 50g and a compact design, the Samsung gear is compact with a gorilla glass protection that makes it scratch resistant. With a 4GB internal storage, GPS tracking feature, and optical heart-rate sensor, Gear Sport seems a smart gadget for today’s generation.

Other specifications include an altimeter, NFC, Bluetooth 4.2, and a great wi-fi connectivity. Being a waterproof gadget, Gear Sport seems to be a fit for swimming as well. The watch also features wireless charging capabilities with 1GHz dual-core CPU and 768MB of RAM. There’s 300mAH battery on board as well. This smart gadget exceptionally tracks your walks offering you all the details on the same.

The verdict

Overall, Samsung Gear Sport is a smart option for workout related concerns. It. almost does everything it is designed and assigned to do. Lower-battery life is somewhat a concern but still, the gadget manages to be a smart offering from the brand Samsung. With a native power-point controller, web app support design, improved wifi infrastructure, and Knox configuration, Samsung Gear Sport manages to get our acceptance. It is smaller but more comfortable on your wrist that is again adds more points to the gadget review.
