Samsung Gear Fit2 is a smart gadget that falls in between the two best offerings from Samsung including fitness tracker and smartwatch. The fitness tracker is a must-have for those who are looking out for a cheaper option with a brand tag. With a set of smart features, the smart tracker can be very much a replacement for the popular tracker like Microsoft Band 2. The concept of fitness (including all the functionalities that are pretty much similar) is much similar if compared to any of the gadgets in the similar category.

The smart gadget is more than just a fitness tracker as it pretty much does the job of a smartwatch. There are a variety of colors available to choose from for a regular user. And, the array of smart offerings with the gadget made it one of the most lovable gadgets for me to review. Let’s dive deep within to know additional offerings.

Getting Into The Specifications

To begin with the review, I would like to start with the looks that is more like a smartwatch. The all-new textured strap gives the smartwatch a sports style that is worth mentioning. The screen resolution for the device has been cut short now from the previous 1.84-inch curve to 1.5 inches. The device has managed to retain the curved AMOLED display having a resolution of 432 x 216. The shining bright display is overall a good offering.

Samsung Gear Fit2’s screen has been coated with Gorilla Glass 3 making the device scratch resistant. It also adds to the crack-proof property of the device. When tested, the device impressively survived all the odds to win over its scratch resistant tag. The strap sits comfortably on the skin making it a perfect fit for exercise purposes. Featuring the elastomer properties, the strap can be stretched aggressively but it returns to its original position. And, that earns some extra points for the gadget from my side.

Samsung Gear Fit2 can be taken to a water depth of 1.5 meters for a maximum of 30 minutes and it very much restricts you to take Samsung Gear Fit2 for swimming (adds a negative point). The watch will now be made available in two different sizes including small (size of the wrist: 125-170mm) and large (size of the wrist: 155-210mm). That’s quite an impressive offering for people having small-wrist. Despite the size difference, there is no difference in the features.

The Verdict

Samsung Gear Fit2 does pretty much everything for you. It detects your napping and sleeping hours as well. Some hefty changes have been made in and out of the device that is added to make the gadget impressive enough. The slim design, heart-rate monitoring, all-day fitness and sleep tracking GPS and automatic exercise detection make the gadget a smart fit at your wrist. With all these added functionalities, we give the Samsung Gear Fit2 a thumbs up. Worth to mention the device is Android and iOS friendly that makes it a gadget worth the price.
