The Mobile World Conference 2018 in Barcelona had a glimpse of ASUS ZenFone 5 that pretty much steal the show. Being the middle sibling in the ASUS trio, the company has revived its mobile strategy one more time to remain a robust competitor in the mobile phone industry. With ZenFone 5, ASUS has taken a different approach to smartphone designing as the product is far better from the two previous offerings that were dull in regard to the processor and the design.

ASUS ZenFone 5 looks similarly like iPhone X. The phone features full HD with 6.2 inch IPS display. The display is bright and sharp and has a similar display as the Apple iPhone X Front part. The lower part is a bit different with a thicker bezel base and is available in a few Asian countries including China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, and Vietnam.

Unfolding the ASUS ZenFone 5 Specifications

ASUS ZenFone 5 is packed with great features including minimalist design and a great price for an iPhone lookalike. Flipping over the device, you see a dual camera at the top left corner and that’s the area where iPhone similarities end. The fingerprint sensor has been placed in the middle that makes it easy for the users to switch on the device from the sleep. A USB-C port and a 3.5mm audio jack lie in the bottom edge that adds more to the overall smartphone offering. The power key lies on the right with the volume button above it.

Talking about the design, ASUS ZenFone 5 is neat and clean. The touch-sensitive buttons below the screen towards the end adds more to the complete aesthetics of the device. The 5-inch HD display with a 1,280x720-pixel resolution, for a density of 294 pixels per inch is another exceptional offering with the device. There is a metallic band below the touch-sensitive buttons, which gives additional shine to the device.

The removable rear cover lets you get a sneak peek into the device battery that is embedded in the device and has a specification of 2,110mAh. And, that makes it obvious that you cannot take out the battery but you can absolutely remove the dual-SIM card and micro SD Card from the device. Audio speaker and the 8-megapixel camera also lies at the back that pretty much adds to the overall aesthetics.

The verdict

ASUS ZenFone 5 is there to give competitors like Xiaomi’s Redmi a challenge. The device has a similar HTC sense UI that gives the apps like calendar, email, phone, and message a color-coded base. Although there is no requirement of such a design with the device; however, the design looks nice. The offering is very much appealing to those who appreciate the iPhone X Design. However, the features are nice but the camera quality is not that impressive. ASUS has made a clever use of its operating system with this phone that is an element to appreciate in the overall offering from the company.
