How many times has it been that you woke up on a Sunday morning feeling remarkable about life and you click on the little Instagram icon and your whole day is ruined with the hate oozing from the negative comments on your last feminism post?

Maybe you can lash back at them or choose to ignore but your morning coffee doesn’t taste Sunday anymore. In fact, in a study conducted by the Royal Society for Public Health (RSPH) and the Young Health Movement (YHM), Instagram was ranked the most harmful for young people’s social health.

The photo social networking app with 700 million users includes a vast user base between the age group of 16 to 24-years-old, whose ideas and mental growth are vulnerable to the dark side of Instagram.

To spread a little sunshine on your rainy day, Instagram is rolling out a new update to its app- it now gives you the power to choose your comments on your posts so that you can eliminate all those haters spoiling your blues.

To promote positivity and social wellness, the photo social networking app is also bringing out new “kindness” filters. *screenshot of kindness filters

To all those Insta bloggers living their dream and making the world a better place, you can now you can browse your comment setting and block all the users that spread hate on your page. The feature also helps professional Instagram bloggers from blocking all the spammers using your account to promote their page.

With the latest update, you can now limit your comments to the accounts you follow and followers or any one of them. The news gets bigger as Instagram has rolled out its new filter process that automatically blocks and abusive language and spam posts in the comment section.

As of now, the feature is only rolled out to French, Arabic, Portuguese and German-speaking users, but the expansion process is speculated to be on a roll.*screenshot of filter settings.

If you thought that’s all in store for the good news, read on! Along with curbing negativity, Instagram wants to connect, helping hands to the one in need. As a part of its update on mental health resources, the company is releasing a new anonymous reporting feature.

The update allows app users to report a cry for help on someone’s live video streaming that sends them a message with a link to a helpline service, tips and support and a call a friend option.

The updates, including the automatic block, have been released because of the negative comments spurring over the recent course of time on the app and automating its filter features will ensure your weekend coffee always feels Sunday.
