Here\'s How You Can View Your Notification History On Android

Push Notifications are a great way to stay up-to-date with the latest updates regarding various apps. But sometimes these notifications can be overwhelming as a result, we end up swiping them without a second glance. And due to this, some important notifications are missed by us and that's why we need to view the notification history to get access to those dismissed notifications.

In this article, we will solely be focusing on how to view notification history on Android devices as Android's notification system is one of the most efficient features. So if you have swiped a crucial notification by mistake, don't worry there's an easy way to view all the notifications that you receive.

Notification Log is an option where you will find it all, from missed emails to new app update notifications. Other than that, the users can also try out the Unnotification feature that is available on every Android 8.0+ device. With the Unnotification feature, you can easily bring back the notifications that were previously dismissed by you.

The LG G7 and Samsung Galaxy S9 are some of the examples of Android devices that do not have the Notification Log option but as stated by Artem Russakovskii there's definitely a workaround.

Before we can begin with the process of viewing the notification history, the users should be aware that the option of Notification Log is not available for every Android smartphone. Some of the devices that this feature is available for are Pixel (i.e. Google Pixel 2 XL and Google Pixel 3) and Razer (i.e. Razer Phone 2) smartphones.

Here are the steps to view your Android notification history through Notification Log:

  • First, do a long press anywhere on the home screen.
  • Then, select the widgets at the bottom of the screen.
  • After that scroll down and click on the 'Settings shortcut' widget.
  • Next, you need to click on the 'Notification Log' option.
  • Then place the widget onto your home screen.
  • At last, select the widget and scroll through all your previous notifications.

So, these were the simple and easy steps to get access to your Android notification history including email alerts, mobile app update notifications etc. Now that you are able to view the notification history on your Android device along with a timestamp, just tap on a particular app to get the detailed notification information.

Although both Notification Log and Unnotification methods work great, it mainly depends on what Android smartphone you have to go efficiently go through the notification history.
