After rescheduling the event, OnePlus 6T is all set to be unveiled on 29th of October, 2018
Just a couple of days earlier, OnePlus made that announcement of conducting a huge launch event on 30th of October, 2018 for unveiling their highly anticipated smartphone, OnePlus 6T. But that's no longer the case! The company's CEO Pete Lau posted about the rescheduling the OnePlus 6T launch event at their community forum.
This rescheduling happened after another tech giant, Apple also released an announcement regarding their upcoming event occurring on the same date and even at the same time as OnePlus.
This was the main reason why OnePlus decided to launch their OnePlus 6T smartphone a day earlier i.e. on 29th of October, 2018 in New York City. This event will take place in the same location at 11 AM ET time to avoid colliding with Apple's iPad Pro and Mac.
In the post, Mr. Lau stated,
"In any pursuit, you can only play the cards you are dealt. We were dealt a pretty bad hand. Our challenge was to find a way to make the most of a bad situation. For months on end, hundreds of people have poured their hearts and souls into creating our best product to date. Our goal is to make sure it gets the time and attention it deserves".
Pete has also promised to refund tickets for those people who won't be able to make it to the event on the new scheduled date. The OnePlus team will also be getting in touch with all ticket buyers individually, just to sort things out regarding the launch event.
This was a difficult situation for the team of OnePlus to deal with. But the decision was made so that people interested in the event can truly focus on the launch of OnePlus 6T rather than worrying about choosing one event to attend i.e. Apple's iPad Pro and Mac event or OnePlus 6T launch event.
The expectations surrounding the latest OnePlus smartphone only seem to be rising, for instance, a majority of people are excited about the rumored in-display fingerprint sensor. We can only hope that all these extra efforts of rescheduling the event pay off well with the launch of OnePlus 6T.
