Samsung, the South Korean smartphone manufacturer, announced two new mid-range smartphones earlier this month. The company unveiled Samsung Galaxy J3 2018 and Samsung Galaxy J7(2018). Both the devices are the rebirth of older models from the J series, the company is re-launching these phones with significant upgrades. Today we will be talking about Galaxy J3 2018 that comes with some attractive enhancements. The company is targeting the Asian market with its new mid-range smartphones equipped with some latest features. Samsung Galaxy J3 2018 is entirely a makeover of its last model that was launched last year. However the smartphone carries the same style and design pattern.
Let's dive into the phone's details and see what Samsung has to offer with all new Galaxy J3.
Samsung has picked the 5-inch screen long bezel mid-range Galaxy J3 to renovate according to the user’s need. The 2018 model of Galaxy J3 looks similar to its predecessor, but there are some design tweaks. The dimensions of both the phones are almost same, however, the new Samsung Galaxy J3 is 8.9mm thick which makes it 0.7 mm thicker than the 2017 model. The phone is build of a strong aluminum body that you can notice just by looking at the phone.
The phone still comes with a 5-inch screen having the big bezel on top and bottom. However, the aluminum body of Samsung Galaxy 2018 J3 looks more delicately designed with smooth finishing. The front side of the phone is almost unchanged. However, on flipping the phone, you will notice that the antennas on top and bottom are missing. Besides, the camera shape is slightly changed, and the Samsung’s logo has been shifted to the bottom. The extra thickness given to the phone makes it appear flat at the corners rather than curved.
Overall the design looks almost similar to the previous model, but Samsung has managed to make it more refined.
The all new Samsung Galaxy J3 2018 comes with a 5 inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen. The display of the phone offers 720 X 1080 pixels resolution for good quality visual experience. The big bezel present on the front side limits the phone to 68.9% screen to body ratio. The hardware support of the phone has been upgraded to make it faster. The Samsung Galaxy J3 2018 runs on Exynos 7570 Quad chipset that is coupled with a Quad-core (1.4 GHz Cortex-A53) processor. The processing unit of the phone seems to be pretty reasonable considering the price.
The phone is capable of running the apps without any issue, and the switching between the apps is smooth. The processing unit of the Samsung Galaxy J3 is supported by 2G RAM and 16GB of internal storage. The storage of the phone is expandable up to 256GB via micros SD card. Coming to the camera, Galaxy J3 comes with an 8MP powerful rear camera that captures great images. The rear camera offers almost all the essential features including Geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, panorama, and HDR. The front camera of the phone is composed of a 5MP lens having a f/2.2 aperture. The camera is better than the previous model, however the front LED is absent in this model. The Samsung Galaxy J3 runs on Android 8.0 (Oreo) and may get the upgrade to Android 8.1 in future.
The battery of the phone has also experienced little upgrade as the new J3 comes with 2600 mAh removable Li-Ion battery.
Samsung has announced the smartphone earlier this month and said that the phone would be coming to the market really soon. According to the latest news, the phone is now available on T Mobile with the name ‘Samsung Galaxy J3 Star’. There is no information on why the company has changed the phone’s name. The Samsung Galaxy J3 2018 is expected to be launched with a price tag of Rs 8,990 in India. Rumors suggest that the phone will be coming to the market in July.
Samsung Galaxy J3 2018 edition is a cheaper smartphone that comes with all the necessary features and hardware support. However the design of the phone doesn't seem prominent but what you can expect in this price range? If you are looking for a basic smartphone that comes at a cheaper price then Samsung Galaxy J3 is an ideal choice.
