Xiaomi, the Chinese smartphone maker has finally announced the latest Redmi smartphone. Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro that was awaited for a long time now comes with some unexpected upgrades. The company has used the latest display trend to give some premium features to the phone. The latest Xiaomi smartphone comes with some of the latest technology support including the notch-display and powerful chipset.
However, unlike Samsung and HTC, the Chinese smartphone maker believes in confining the latest tech within an affordable device. Xiaomi has introduced the new Redmi update equipped with a number of features and enhancements under affordable price. The Xiaomi Redmi 6 pro is the first smartphone to get the notch display in the Redmi series.
Xiaomi Redmi 6 pro carries the same Redmi essence in its design but with more attractive upgrades. The Xiaomi smartphone wears a metal unibody with a delicate finishing at the back. Redmi 6 pro dimensions are 149.3 x 71.7 x 8.8 mm, which means the Redmi 6 pro is only 8.8mm thick which is appreciable for Xiaomi. Along with this, the Xiaomi phone comes with the notch design at the front. The minimal bezel holds the 5.8-inch screen, and there is a tiny chin at the bottom of the display.
The body of the phone rests on a durable aluminum frame. At the back of the phone, you will find some of alluring design tweaks. The rear camera and the flashlight are placed in an iPhone X like position. The fingerprint sensor is placed at the center, which is the most convenient location to unlock the phone quickly. The volume key and the lock/unlock button is positioned on the right side of the phone. The bottom of the phone comprises the charging port and the audio jack.
The Xiaomi phone looks great, and the notch display is the highlight of the phone. Redmi 6 pro is slim and comfortable enough to operate with a single hand. Metal-look with Xiaomi’s own less-shiny design makes the Xiaomi Redmi 6 pro the best upgrade in the series till date.
Redmi 6 pro replaces Redmi 5 Pro launched in 2017 that is a powerful mid-range smartphone. The latest Redmi smartphone comes with a 5.84 inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen. The display of the phone is equipped with 1080 x 2280 pixels resolution for full HD experience. Xiaomi used the notch display idea for giving 19:9 aspect ratio to the phone. The display of the Xiaomi phone is bright and attractive. The FHD screen is quite good to deliver a fantastic experience.
Redmi series has always been an excellent example of the best display in an affordable range. Inside the phone, you will find a Qualcomm MSM8953 Snapdragon 625 chipset that is responsible for the operations. The chipset of the phone is accompanied by a powerful Octa-core (2.0 GHz Cortex-A53) processor. The combination of the chipset and processor makes the phone fast enough to tackle even complex apps efficiently. The Xiaomi Redmi 6 pro runs on 4GB RAM and contains 64GB of internal storage. Besides, the Xiaomi Redmi 6 pro is also available in 4GB RAM with 32GB internal storage and 3GB RAM having 32GB of internal storage.
Coming to the camera department, the Xiaomi Redmi 6 pro owns a robust rear dual camera. The Xiaomi smartphone uses 12MP+5MP lenses to take sharp images. The rear camera offers the features like gyro-EIS, phase detection autofocus, Geo-tagging, touch focus, face/smile detection, HDR, and panorama. The front camera of the phone comes with a 5MP sensor that supports 1080 pixels and HDR. The Xiaomi smartphone runs on Android 8.1 (Oreo) right out of the box that is overlaid by the Xiaomi's MIUI 9.0. The Xiaomi Redmi 6 pro comprises a massive 4000 mAh Li-Ion battery that helps the phone to work for a long time.
Xiaomi launched the smartphone this week only in China, and there is no news about the global release. Redmi 6 pro is available for pre-orders since launch and will go on sale starting from today. The price of the Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro starts at CNY 999 ($153), while the 4GB/32GB variant costs CNY 1,199 ($185) and 4GB/64GB model comes at CNY 1,299 ($200).
The Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro seems to be a great deal considering its price. The phone comes with the notch display and 19:9 aspect ratio offering the FHD resolution. Moreover, the dual camera is impressive along with a powerful processing unit. There is no doubt that Xiaomi has reshaped the Redmi series with the new launch. The affordable smartphone is a good option for the users who want to taste the latest tech without spending much. However, for performance, we need to wait until we get our hands on Redmi 6 Pro.
