The longtime rumored Oppo Find X smartphone finally came out of the shadows today. Oppo will be setting a new trend in the mobile app industry with Find X. In 2018 the smartphone makers were following the trend of incorporating the large screens into a smaller shell using a notch in the display. However, Oppo will be taking this idea to a whole new level by motorizing camera. The company was successful in placing a 6.4-inch display to achieve 92.25% screen to body ratio without using the notch. Yes, Oppo Find X is almost a full-screen smartphone that you can still hold in your hand.

Oppo uses some mechanical approach to attain something that other companies are still figuring out. The full front display is possible only due to the camera system of Oppo Find X that disappears when the phone is off, or the camera app is inactive. When the phone is turned on, once you open the camera app, the upper camera section will motorize up. The top section of the phone will slide up with a 25 MP front camera along with a 3D facial scanning system. The rear side of the sliding part contains 16MP+ 20MP dual rear camera. According to Oppo, the whole camera system slide’s out in just 0.5 seconds that is pretty impressive. Once you close the camera app, the entire rear and front top section will hide under the phone’s body.

Find X comes with an OLED display having the 1080pixle resolution. With the camera app closed, the smartphone looks similar to Samsung Galaxy S9. The phone has a curved screen and rounded edges that make it look compelling. With the help of curved glass and motorizing approach the company achieved the high screen to body ratio. However, Find X isn't the only phone having big screen with a notch-less design, recently Vivo launched Nexa with a pop-up camera. But, Oppo also used the sliding mechanism to hide the rear camera which is something unique.

Surprising Find X doesn't have any fingerprint sensor instead it uses the 3D facial scanning sensor to unlock the phone. Once you picked up the phone and slide up the lock screen, the camera system will automatically slide up, and the facial scanning sensor will scan your face and unlock the phone. It may be sounding like a stretched unlocking process, but unexpectedly it happens fast that you can't spot the difference.

Oppo Find X comprises powerful hardware support that includes 8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage. Moreover, the smartphone runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor. For now, Oppo has launched Find X only in China and it is available to buy online starting today. There is no information about the global launch of the phone. Oppo Find X costs CNY 4,500, which is roughly $700 or €600.
