Apple\'s Last Week\'s Breakdown: Curved iPhone, iOS 11.3 Update, and iPhone 8 Beating iPhone X

Apple never ceases to feed the tech enthusiast with the latest news to keep them excited all the time. Last week, there was some major news regarding the iPhones and the latest iOS 11 update. The iPhone 8 came up as the best performance based model offered by Apple. Along with this, there are some leaks, suggesting the idea of curved iPhone.

Lately, many gadget experts like PhoneArena tested the latest flagship phones in order to find a winner. The major testing factor was the battery endurance as this was a point of concern recently. Moreover, Apple is already dealing with battery issue that caused it to throttle iPhones’ performance. However, the company handed over the performance controlling option to the users via iOS 11.3 update. The test was conducted by PhoneArena under certain conditions to know how long the battery of these phones can withstand.

During the battery test, iPhone X was able to last for 6 hours 41 minutes and iPhone 8 won the battle with 10 hours 36 minutes. The company also tested iPhone 7 that came up with the least battery performance of 8 hours 37 minutes. Apple's best battery supported iPhone not only beaten the in-house competition but also proven much better than Samsung Galaxy S9 and Samsung Galaxy S9 plus. Where the former one lasted only for 7 hours and 23 minutes and the later can be operated up to 8 hours and 22 minutes. This certainly shows that iPhone X that Apple markets as the best of all come second to iPhone 8 in battery performance. The test was also carried out by other experts including Anandtech applying different conditions. The result may vary from PhoneArena but iPhone 8 proven to be the best among all in the battery performance.

The new leaks and reports also suggest that Apple is working on a curved iPhone that will reshape the smartphone experience in the future. However, there is not much information available on the curved smartphone from Apple but iDrop news shared a design of this prototype iPhone based on reports and leaks. The design shows that Apple would be making curved towards the users instead of the traditional away-screen idea.

After months of testing and beta versions, Apple finally dropped the iOS 11.3 last week offering performance throttling control option. However, some of the users have reported that the feature isn't working well. In addition, Apple Music app also getting crashed frequently since the iOS 11.3 update as reported by most of the users.
