HTC may be out of the league for some time now with its flagship phones, but the company is preparing to launch a game changer. With so many tech giants in the market introducing super fast and tech-enabled smartphones, HTC needs to ball up its game. This is why HTC is taking quite a time with its upcoming flagship smartphone HTC U12+. However, more than the actual reports we have a lot of rumors about the device, but we have sorted out the most trustworthy news and claims about the HTC’s upcoming device.

HTC U12+ design and display

HTC is known for carrying the liquid surface look over the metal boy of its smartphones. Moreover, U11 and U11+ also have the same look, the liquid surface makes the device looks more attractive and the perfectly toned glass finish makes it give an expensive appearance. U 12+ is also expected to have the same liquid surface design with shimmering light reflection at the back. There will be a dual camera lens mounted at back with a fingerprint sensor that is expected to be slightly changed in orientation with respect to U11+. The one thing that we are sure about is the bezel-less HTC device, the company should eliminate the bezel with the same 18:9 aspect ratio. The closer edges to screen will make the HTC U12+ a classy version of HTC flagships phones.

HTC has already showcased the U12+ at the event in Taiwan, during a 5G promotion function in the country. However, the phone was concealed at the edges and back with covers, but it was enough to spot the device. The phone is expected to comprise of a 6-inch display with QHD+ resolution. HTC U12+ is expected to come with the LCD screen similar to the previous models considering the price range.

HTC U12+ Specifications

The rumours about the specification of HTC U12+ has been coming from the number of sources. But, the leak from @LlabTooFer is closest one as it has been approved by none other than Evan Blass on Twitter. According to the reports the device will be running on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset supported by 6GB RAM and internal storage, which expandable up to 256GB. HTC U12 Plus will be having a powerful 3,420mAh battery with the Quick Charging support for long-lasting energy supply. HTC will be keeping its device away from  3.5mm jack and providing USonic headphones that can be connected via USB-C type to the phone. The rumors about the phone’s specs from other sources also claim that there will be 64GB and a 128GB variant for HTC U12+. We believe that in order to complete the other high-end smartphones HTC also will be giving Qi wireless charging support.

HTC has already announced that its upcoming device will be having a dual camera with some extra features. Based on the leaked images from Ventura Beat, it is clear that U12 Plus have the dual camera mounted above the LED flash. The primary camera will be 12MP along with a 16MP secondary camera, however, the aperture of both the cameras are different. This suggests that the secondary camera will be having some additional functionality like low-light, zoom or wide angle support. We also expect the camera to come with Optical Image stabilization capability. In addition to this, there will be Edge Sense 2.0 in the smartphone along with an HTC Face unlock enhanced version.

HTC U12+ release date and Price

Earlier HTC was supposed to push the device in the Q1 2018, however, the delay in production shifts the launch till May. So, most probably HTC  will be announcing its new flagship smartphone next month. The price details are still available of, however, some of the sources including Focus Taiwan suggests that the 128GB variant of HTC U12+ will cost $850 or more.
