The smartphone market has already been heated up by the news and rumors of upcoming smartphone including Samsung Galaxy Note 9, Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium and more. Since last two years, the Chinese smartphone makers have been giving a tough competition to the giants like Apple, Samsung, and Sony. This includes Xiaomi too, that launches Mi A1 last year and swept a substantial portion of the Asian market. Now, the rumors about the Mi A2 or Mi Mix 6 in China has been catching up very fast.
According to the reports the company is almost ready to launch Mi A2. So, here are some important rumors, news, and details on specifications of Mi A2.
Recently the upcoming Xiaomi Mi A2 has been spotted at TENNA, that shared the specs and design details of the phone. According to the website, the Xiaomi's upcoming flagship smartphone will almost similar to its predecessor in looks. There will be 5.99 inches full HD + display with the 18:9 aspect ratio. As per the reports the phone will be coming in metal unibody along with similar curved edges to Mi A1. The camera will be mounted vertically at the back of the phone instead of being horizontal along with the fingerprint sensor. The body is expected to be 7.33 mm thin, which is similar to the previous model, however, the screen to body ratio will differ.
As we mentioned earlier the camera will change its orientation from being horizontal to vertical in Xiaomi Mi A2. The phone will comprise a dual camera lens of 20 MP and 8MP with f/2 and f/1.5 aperture respectively. The powerful camera will inherit its predecessor's low-light and other snapping features along with new updates. In addition, there will be 20 MP front-facing camera for the selfie lovers.
The rumors about the specifications of Mi A2 has been going around for a long time now. The latest reports suggest that the phone will be running on Octa-core 2.2 GHz Snapdragon 626 processor. The device will be supported by 4GB RAM along with 32/64GB internal storage that will be expandable up to 128 GB further. Unlike the Xiaomi’s latest release Redmi Note 5, the A2 will have USB-C type. In order to make device operational for the longest time, there will be 2910 mAh battery with quick charging capability. Xiaomi will be giving dual SIM support including Nanohybrid SIM slot. The display will be protected by Gorilla Glass 3 with and USB OTG support. The latest revelation about the phone also mentioned that phone will be running on stock Android 8.1 as the Mi A1 was also the stock Android-based smartphone. The stock Android is the complete and untouched version of the Android that only flagships phones like Pixel and Nexus offer. Xiaomi launched its first stock Android phone Mi A1 last year by replacing its MUI with the pure Android.
Considering the upgrades and new features the Xiaomi Mi A2 won't be going far from its predecessor in the price tag. However, the enhanced camera and better metal finishing touch may affect the price. According to our research and expectation, the Mi A2 will cost somewhere around $300. The Chinese smartphone maker hasn't given any official information over the release date of the Mi A2 yet. But, we believe that similar to last year’s launch the company will launch the new model towards the end of the Q2 2018.
As the phone is still some months away from getting into our hand so we can make the verdict only on the basis of rumors. The Xiaomi Mi A1 collected much appreciation from the consumers over its performance and was recognized as the best affordable phone with a powerful camera. Based on the performance of Mi A1 we expect Mi A2 to come with boost up performance and if the company continues to provide the expected upgrades, then this affordable phone will be taking over other devices in the Asian market.
