With V40 ThinQ, LG would like to turn the tables.
After some decent success of G6 and the LG V30, LG would want to make the most out of this fortune. If rumours are to be believed, LG is working extensively on a new device, V40 ThinQ. As per reputable serial leaker, Evan Blass, the phone is codenamed as “Storm.” It’s really hard to speculate what this new device will bring with it. A later tweet by Blass confirmed the name as LG V40 ThinQ.
The development team of LG would surely make it a point to pack every possible element that would make this model as the flagship smartphone for the company. The possibility of 6in 18:9 display and dual-16Mp cameras are ripe enough for LG V40 ThinQ. The pixel density may vary, depending upon the market trend at the time of launch.
According to TechRubik, following are the specs that may be strapped with LG V40:
With the present focus on LG V35 ThinQ, the specs of LG V40 is hard to summarise. However, we expect LG to power its smartphone with Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor. The newest and most powerful chipset would surely pack the punch it would need to outshine other devices of its segment.
Though the launch date of this flagship device is not confirmed, as per LG’s V-range history, the model is expected to see the light in the latter part of this year. One of the tweet by Blass confirmed the same.
As stated by Cho Seong-jin, LG Electronics Vice Chairman, and CEO, “We will unveil new smartphones when it is needed. But we will not launch it just because other rivals do. We plan to retain existing models longer by, for instance, unveiling more variant models of the G series or V series."
In the near future, following the release of LG V35 ThinQ, the South Korean OEM is anticipated to launch of LG V40 ThinQ. The launch of two V-series devices will certainly push the much-needed marketing campaign of LG. With two models around the corner, we contemplate the LG won’t bombard us with its devices and rather will push one device at a time.
If LG wants to make its name in the mobile industry, which is heavily dominated by Apple and Samsung, the company has to craft something out of its magic wand. On the price factor, with an improved hardware and software, we envision LG V40 price to be more than any other LG’s model.
Presently, this is all we know about the LG V40 ThinQ and we are, sure enough, the company will be putting every bit of it to take on its rivals.
