Google for India event has witnessed the grand launch of new version of Android Go operating system. The search giant has introduced Android Oreo Go edition which is designed to run on the smartphones running with the 1 GB or 51MB RAM ability.

Currently, only the developers have the access to the devices which are running Android Oreo Go Edition and will take some time to reach to the Indian consumers. It is the understated version of Android Oreo and with which the company plans to remove the extensive use of ‘Android Fragmentation’ as it is going to bring the Android Oreo on budget mobile devices as well as leading smartphones.

Google’s Android Oreo is also available with Files Go. Android Oreo app has three basic functions which include freeing up space by deleting unnecessary data. It also helps in finding files, photos, and other content faster and share the files without going online with the other group of people. At Google for India event, Google shared the insight that Indians consume more data which is 4GB on an average per month and it is estimated to reach 11 GB per month in next four years down the line.

In addition to this huge Android Oreo Go Edition launch at Google for India event, the company also announced the Go versions of Google search, Google Assistant, Google Maps, Gmail and more. YouTube Go also has new features which help the users to download the content easily when they are on Wi-Fi

New Go Version Updates from Google India Event:-

Google Maps:

This update includes two-wheeler mode with voice navigation. This update is going to offer the exact travel time and customized route, voice and landmark navigation for two-wheelers.

Google Tez:

Google's mobile app for digital payment Tez is going to add the payments for the merchants also. Google has also announced bill payment option on Tez. Indian users will be able to pay the bill to telecom operators’ and also will receive the alerts in case of pending and unpaid bills.

Google Assistant:

This app is launched for Jio Phone. Google assistant will assist in the searches via text and voice-related searches.

Internet Saathi: Google announced its plans to expand its ‘Internet Saathi’ program at Google for India event. Google aims to run this program in collaboration with Tata Trusts and creating digital literacy among women in rural India.

Google Go:

Google launched the faster version of Google Go for file search and Files Go for optimizing the data storage. Google Go is made available mainly for Android Go edition devices which are going to make the searches easier on the slow connections. This app shows the options for voice search, image and GIF search, and video. Users will have an option to search in two different languages.
