Instagram DM Feature

In the series of latest developments that Facebook-owned Instagram has been making, the latest one is sharing videos through “Direct Message”. It is one of the various features that Instagram, the social messaging giant has rolled out lately after live video feature, adding hashtags to follow & paid partnership chance to influencer marketers to mention a few.

The new feature rolled out today facilitates sending live videos over direct messages to other Instagram users. The update brings the opportunity to share live video (your own or the one you are watching) directly to a friend or a group on Instagram. This new feature has thus made the video sharing a fun to do among the friends.

Going live on Instagram now offers the advantage of this newly rolled out feature that can be used by tapping the Direct icon on the Instagram app. You can find the icon located at the bottom of the screen. Nevertheless, your direct videos can only be watched by the friends when they are currently live. Your live audience can comment, react and message to the videos & the late visitors can only watch a “video is over” message on their Instagram app screen.

Additionally, there is an option of co-watching the Instagram live videos with friends just by tapping on the direct icon to share the same through messaging. There is disable live video sharing for those who are not interested in the feature. You can go to stories settings to opt for the option. Private account owners can only share their videos with the followers. The live video feature is rolled out for Android and iOS users alike.

Instagram has been rolling out user-friendly feature to reach directly to a whole new audience base that it has been missing. The recent direct message feature seems to be a foot forward in this direction. While the list of such social media platforms is increasing day by day, Instagram seems to be the one innovative of all to roll out amazing features. And, the fact that users are loving the innovative Instagram features is worth mentioning.
