Microsoft Mixer, the gameplay live streaming app who’s latest version was in testing phases since last month is finally coming out from the beta. Microsoft is launching the Mixer update, a Twitch competitor for live streaming the gameplay for Android and the iOS users will get the update in the next few days. The company was testing the app in order to improve its performance and add more alluring features. According to the company, the app now has a better user interface, boosted up performance and more personalized features for the users.
The new version has a lot of changes and updates in the app including a new push alert feature for the streamers, better searching algorithm and a redesigned ‘Trending’ Android section. In order to feed the user with more relevant and personalized stream broadcasts, the company has redesigned the trending section. Now, the user can find a more specific co-streaming broadcaster in the section. A new ‘Following’ tab will also show the recent activities of the favorite broadcasters along with recommendations. The Microsoft Mixer update promises a better gameplay streaming experience than the older version of the app.
Microsoft also worked on the code base of the app to boost up the performance and the stability for live streaming. The discovery section has also been updated to deliver streaming content more efficiently. Now, the app also has the push notification feature that will notify you in case your favorite streamer comes with live streaming. In addition to this, the chat option also receives some new options such a viewer list, whispers, and other basic mode features. The Microsoft Mixer update also allows the user to customize the app by adjusting a few settings such as video quality, sharing options and chat toggles.
However, all the features that Microsoft MIxer offers are already being given by the Amazon-owned Twitch. Though Microsoft is working hard to make an impact on the gameplay live streaming with Mixer Twitch and YouTube holds the major market for now. With the Mixer update, Microsoft believes that it will successfully convince the streamers to leave Twitch and YouTube for a better live streaming experience. However, the time will show the reaction of the gamers on the Microsoft Mixer update. For now, the update is available only for Android users will start showing up soon in the App Store for iOS users.
